How does the Z-BOLT® LEP Work?
1] Laser excitation: A blue laser diode is the power source. This laser is not the light beam itself, but rather a tool to excite the phosphor.
2] Phosphor conversion: The laser is focused onto a phosphor material, such as a crystal, which fluoresces and releases a broad spectrum of visible light when hit by the laser.
3] White light creation: The colors from the phosphor, along with the blue light from the laser, combine to create a powerful, white beam of light.
4] Beam focusing: The light is then directed through a focusing lens, often an aspheric lens, which creates a very tight, concentrated beam with a very long throw distance.

The Thyrm LPC is low profile for ease of use. The SwitchBack® 2.0 adds a multi-function finger ring and robust pocket clip to your tactical flashlight. It mounts securely between the BLAZER’s tail cap and body, providing a repeatable grip index during deployment from pocket or pouch, and enhances ergonomics while shooting or searching. SwitchBacks can be used with handguns or long guns, allowing the user to:
- Reliably deploy and index a flashlight from both pockets and pouches, using the SwitchBack’s rigid, but releasable, retention ring.
- Shoot using a natural two-handed grip (the SwitchBack Technique).
- Employ all traditional low-light techniques such as Neck Index, Modified FBI, and Harries.
- Positively retain the light when drawing a firearm, reloading, and addressing a malfunction.

Performance is great and it’s been as durable as any other high-end duty light. What keeps this from being 5 stars for me are a few minor things. I think form factor could’ve been a little smaller in areas like the end cap. I wish the end cap threads were compatible with SF/Arisaka/Modlite etc., just how the heads are. This would solve the first gripe of having a reduce OAL and give the user more options for preference. I’m OCD like this. I prefer some clicks and button guards over other end cap designs. Lastly, please put some grease on the threads. I dabbed on some Aeroshell 64 to have less wear on the threads and o-rings. God is in the details.
